Claude Bedard, Senior Consultant

Managing our Ottawa office, 20-year broadcast engineering veteran Claude Bedard has demonstrated the ability to bring complex projects to completion within budget and on schedule. Over the course of his career, his duties have encompassed many facets of the design and implementation of facilities for TV, digital HDTV, radio, audio visual systems and meeting collaboration systems.

His experience as a project manager and senior designer ranges from estimation of project costs to the detailed design of complete systems. By applying high standards of quality allied with functionality and versatility, Claude gives his clients and end-users the best available tools to promote their capabilities and creativity efficiently.

 

Portfolio

Claude’s portfolio includes a number of facilities in the House of Commons and the Senate, Ottawa, including the Committee Room Prototype Project, Bank Street Building Project, House of Commons Sound System, House of Commons Master Control, the Victoria Building Committee Rooms, and several other Committee Rooms, as well as the development of meeting room standards for the House of Commons. His portfolio also encompasses the new EDC Building, Montfort Hospital, the Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat, the Ottawa Convention Centre, the Canadian War Museum, the Canadian Museum of Nature (Ottawa) and the Alberta Legislature.

 

Education & Career Beginnings

Claude graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Sherbrooke. He also holds a Technical Diploma in Electronics. Following graduation he served as a project engineer, first with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, and subsequently with National TeleConsultants. He expanded his management skill set, moving to Immad ECVS in the capacity of project manager and senior engineering supervisor, and then to EMC Corporation where he served as field systems engineering manager prior to joining Engineering Harmonics in 2001.

 

Memberships

A registered Professional Engineer in the province of Quebec, Claude is a member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) and Infocomm.

 

Technical Presentations

Claude has delivered a number of technical presentations, including Media Asset Management Systems (Iowa DTV Symposium, 2000) and Television Signals Distribution and Monitoring at the House of Commons (Engineering Harmonics, 2007).
